Travel to Varadero

  • Flight USA – Varadero.
  • Arrival at Juan Gualberto Gomez International Airport in Varadero.
  • Pick up at the airport. From the airport, travel to the sea-flanked peninsula of Varadero. Arrive to your hotel and check in. To celebrate your first night in Cuba, meet with local dancers at the hotel poolside for an interactive Cuban salsa lesson, learn its distinctive style. Have dinner at the hotel or in the nearby town.

Havana Tour: Heritage and Culture.

  • After breakfast travel to Havana City and tour the Historical Center of Old Havana, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Visit the main plazas (squares): Plaza Vieja, Plaza de San Francisco de Asis, Plaza de Armas and Plaza de la Catedral. Enjoy a coffee tasting at El Escorial and visit the Engraving Workshop “La Catedral” and the studio of famous painter Nelson Dominguez. You will meet Cuban artists and will learn about their amazing project.
  • Lunch at a private restaurant in La Habana Vieja (Old Havana) where you will learn about this new form of private business in Cuba, interacting with waiters and owners.
  • Enjoy a scenic drive that will take you around the National Capitol (monumental work of the Twentieth Century and former home of the legislature in Cuba before 1959), the Grand Theater of Havana (a baroque architectural wonder that serves as the main house for the world-famous Cuban National Ballet), Parque Central, the Central Park and the Paseo del Prado (first walk outside the walls of the old city, which opened in the late eighteenth century and it is considered to be a true Cuban architectural jewel).
  • Then take a detour to the Jaimanitas neighborhood, which is home to Jose Fuster’s house. Enjoy the art all around you, in the form of tiny ceramic mosaics. He is known as the “Picasso of the Caribbean”.
  • In the late afternoon drive back to Varadero with a brief stop at Bacunayagua bridge for sweeping views of the Yumuri Valley.

Art and Crafts Tours together with the history of Varadero.

  • During the day, you could take the Tourist Bus near the hotel lobby, to enjoy a panoramic tour around Varadero. This will include a visit the town Art and Craft Market . The buses pass at approximately 1 hour intervals and during this day you have this service included in the Program
  • You will visit the Art and Craft Market of Varadero, which offers a variety of pieces by the gifted Cuban artists of the region. Here you will interact and exchange experiences with the talented artists.
  • Suggested visit: the House-Museum Casa Dupont, a marvel of Cuban architecture. The mansion was built by Mr. Irenee Dupont, an American millionaire. Learn about its history and its influence in Varadero many years ago./li>

  • Bay of Pigs Tour
    Transfer to Guama Touristic Center in The Province of Matanzas by bus. Once you get to Guama take a tour by motor boat across Laguna del Tesoro (Treasure Lake) or Hatiguanico river, visit the touristic farm “Fiesta Campesina” and the Crocodile breeding Center to contemplate these fierce animals in their natural habitat and the Aldea Taina, a replica of a Cuban native’s settlement, where you will converse with the inhabitants of the area, and learn from their way and lifestyle. Then, your destination will be the famous Bay of Pigs and the on-site museum which commemorates and recounts the conflict between Cuba and the USA in 1961. You will have free time to appreciate the nature in the beautiful waters of the Caribbean Sea at “Punta Perdiz” or “Caleta Buena”. Enjoy a delicious typical Cuban lunch. Includes transfers, lunch and specialized guides.
  • Yumuri Jeep Safari Tour
    This is an adventure of more than 150 km tour along walkways, roads, quarries, palm tree stands and country villages, where you will visit Playa Coral, the Saturn’s Cave, also you will have time to appreciate the lush nature and make a Panoramic tour of the city of Matanzas, to appreciate the architecture and the influence of the African-American culture. Later you will Tour the Yumuri Valley with stop at that rural community which includes: a visit to a farmer´s home, typical Cuban lunch, guided visit to crops and animal raising areas. There will be free time for horseback riding. Afterwards you will take an approximately 30 min. tour on a fast boat along the Canímar river, a protected area that offers many beauty and natural attractions and a visit to an ancient coffee plantation. The tour includes transfers, lunch and specialized guides.

Return trip to USA

  • Hotel check out and transfer to Varadero airport for return flight to USA.
