Discover the eastern side of Cuba and enjoy the island’s natural wonders.  Travel to the historic city of Santiago de Cuba, the second most important city in the island. Visit many places of cultural and historical interests such as Morro Fortress, Santa Ifigenia Cemetery and Bacardi Museum. Admire the verdant and stunning views of La Gran Piedra – The Big Rock, a volcanic rock, 51 meters long and 25-30 meters wide, one of the highest mountains of Cuba.  Explore “La Mensura” National Park, one of the most important sites in the Western Hemisphere for its endemic flora and one of the most biologically diverse tropical island sites on Earth. Visit Holguin, the place where Christopher Columbus landed in Cuba in 1492. Interact with the locals and learn about their traditions and way of life. You will get to see how the Cubans are trying to create new private businesses in the island and understand how the Cuban dual currency works. All tours are in private.

Arrive to Holguin Airport.

  • Flight US-Holguin.
  • Welcome and transfer to a private restaurant.
  • After lunch continue transfer to Santiago de Cuba.
  • Check in at Casagranda Hotel
  • Suggested: Visit the Cathedral of Santiago de Cuba.

Santiago de Cuba City Tour.

  • After breakfast, pick up for a tour of the city.
  • Visit many places of interest such as Morro Fortress, Santa Ifigenia Cemetery and Bacardi Museum.
  • Lunch at a private restaurant in Granma Cay
  • Optional Night: Iris Jazz Club, this Club is one of Cuba’s best jazz clubs. Great atmosphere, not too big, it’s cozy and you can sit in a comfy booth and enjoy some incredibly exponents of Santiago’s significant jazz scene, surrounded by contemporary visual arts. This is an excellent place to have an enjoyable night.

Visit the National Park La Gran Piedra.

  • After breakfast, departure to the National Park Gran Piedra
  • You will visit the Prehistoric Park, the Automobile Museum and the Gran Piedra, where you will be able to ascend trails to the top of the rock.

Departure to “La Mensura” Natural Park

  • After breakfast, transfer to Pinares de Mayari Villa in La Mensura Natural Park.
  • Accommodation at the Villa Pinares de Mayari.

Villa Pinares de Mayari is located in the Mensura Hill, in the municipality of Mayari, about 70 miles away to the southwest of Holguin eastern city, at about 600 meters above the sea level. This area is a natural paradise and it is a protected area with tropical abundant vegetation and a wild endemic flora.
The landscape of “La Mensura” National Park is marked by a mountainous plateau formed by pine forests and a cool tropical microclimate with temperatures of 69 Degrees’ Fahrenheit averages.
In Villa Pinares de Mayarí you will be able to observe arborescent millennial ferns, creeks, cascades, wells and fresh water ponds, wonderful orchids and stunning color birds.
Climbing mountains, swimming in cold and calm waters, enjoying the landscape, sharing with local farmers, practicing outdoor sports and forgetting about the rest of the world will be a well-chosen alternative. That’s why Villa Pinares de Mayari is a perfect choice for nature lovers.

  • Lunch at the Villa Pinares de Mayari.

In the afternoon hike around the Villa, where you can appreciate the natural beauties and you can meet and talk with farmers in the area.

  • Dinner and then at night enjoy live Cuban music.

Tour to Guayabo Waterfall.

  • Early in the morning, after breakfast, take the truck to Guayabo Waterfall, where you will enjoy nature.

You could descend through trails to the bottom of the waterfall, where you can take a refreshing swim in the river water, in addition to admire the endemic birds and flora of the park

  • Lunch (traditional lunch country style – the whole roasted pig on the stick) with other options, grilled fish or roast chicken, previous coordination with the guide.
  • Night: Dinner at Pinares de Mayari Villa.

Transfer to Hotel Playa Pesquero, Holguin.

  • Early in the morning, after breakfast, take the transfer to Hotel Playa Pesquero, 65 miles (appx.1:30 hours).
  • At the hotel lobby, a representative of Vemares will welcome you.
  • Lunch and free afternoon
  • Welcome dinner at a specialized restaurant
  • Night – Live music and Artistic Show at the hotel.

Tour to Natural Park Cayo Saetia.

  • Preserved as a virgin area, this Natural Park stretches for 42 square kilometers with forests that house a wide variety of animal species, such as white-tail deer, zebras, buffaloes, ostriches, peacocks, antelopes and hundreds of birds. Adventure tour through the countryside to Antilla Port and catamaran sail in the Nipe Bay. Open bar and light snacks on board. Snorkeling time at the coral reef.   • Adventure Tour on 4 x 4 Jeep.
    Tour along the picturesque countryside on 4×4 jeeps. This is a great opportunity to live a fun adventure. Take a speed boat ride in the bay, visit the place where Christopher Columbus landed in Cuba in 1492. Visit a forester’s house, enjoy horse-back riding ($-additional cost), and take part in common activities of the Cuban Farmers.
